 hello,

I have been running the ECGFE-PDK from about 7 months using the GUI provided in the system. As of now, I am for some reason unable to load the hardware on the GUI as there is some sort of firmware source mismatch. Will appreicate leads on this front. attaching a screenshot.

thanks.

CCS/ADS1118: Understanding temperature conversion on 430BOOST-ADS1118-SFT

Part Number: ADS1118

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I have a question regarding the example code provided on "ADS1118.c" in 430BOOST-ADS1118-SFT.

/******************************************************************************
 * function: local_compensation(int local_code)
 * introduction:
 * this function transform internal temperature sensor code to compensation code, which is added to thermocouple code.
 * local_data is at the first 14bits of the 16bits data register.
 * So we let the result data to be divided by 4 to replace right shifting 2 bits
 * for internal temperature sensor, 32 LSBs is equal to 1 Celsius Degree.
 * We use local_code/4 to transform local data to n* 1/32 degree.
 * the local temperature is transformed to compensation code for thermocouple directly.
 *                                                                                  (Tin -T[n-1])
 * comp codes = Code[n-1] + (Code[n] - Code[n-1])* {---------------}
 *										     (T[n] - T[n-1])
 * for example: 5-10 degree the equation is as below
 *
 * tmp = (0x001A*(local_temp - 5))/5 + 0x0019;
 *
 * 0x0019 is the 'Code[n-1]' for 5 Degrees; 	0x001A = (Code[n] - Code[n-1])
 * (local_temp - 5) is (Tin -T[n-1]);			denominator '5' is (T[n] - T[n-1])
 *
 * the compensation range of local temperature is 0-125.
 * parameters: local_code, internal sensor result
 * return value: compensation codes
 ******************************************************************************/

My question is how are values 0x0019 and 0x001A determined? Is there a lookup table I can reference to?
5degC K-type thermocouple produces a mV of 0.198 and 10deg k-type thermocouple produces a mV of 0.397

Also I will ultimately use an ADS1018 for my project, how are the result data divided and shifted?

Thank you

ADS1232REF: Is there an alternate to the evaluation board?

Part Number: ADS1232REF

Hi

I am based in the UK and looking to gain immediate delivery of a ADS1232REF evaluation board, but am unable to find UK suppliers with stock.

I need an ADC that can process data from a 6 wire load cell, the type with the sense wires. Ideally it would be able to handle 4 such load cells but that is a "nice to have". Is there an alternate to the ADS1232REF?

Thank you

DAC7678EVM: Select to update DAC register channel n command does nothing / does not seem to work

Part Number: DAC7678EVM

Hey

I am using the DAC7678EVM, and i am testing all the commands.

I had some trouble with the Update DAC register channel n.

I have tested that the LDAC register should be set correct for channel A to only react to software LDAC.

If i use the Write to DAC input register channel n, the output does not change when measuring the output pin, and issuing a read back command shows that the register changes.

If i instead use the Write to DAC input register channel n and update channel n, then the output changes.

But if i issue the write command and then afterwards the update command for channel A the output does not change.

Have i misunderstood the function of the Update DAC register channel N ?

Does it not provide a software LDAC ?

Example of command chain to set LDAC, write to register and then update register

0x90 (address and 'W/R bit) 0x60 (write to LDAC) 0xFF (Set all High A-H) 0x00 (does not matter)  Writing to LDAC

0x90 (address and 'W/R bit) 0x00 (write to channel A register) 0x00 0x00 (set 12 bit value to 0)  Writing to Channel A register

0x90 (address and 'W/R bit) 0x10 (Update channel A output) 0x00 0x00 (does not matter)  Update Channel A register

ADS5294EVM: Maximum number of samples from at least 2 channels using TSW1400EVM

Part Number: ADS5294EVM

I would like to use the ADS5294EVM and TSW1400EVM to evaluate the performance for our specialized application. In particular, we are interested in the phase stability over ~10000 seconds. To do this, we would like to know the following:

1. What is the maximum number of samples that can be collected from 2 channels simultaneously at 65 or 80 MSps from this evaluation platform? Is there a buffer size or throughput limit other than the size of my hard drive that restricts how much data I can collect using this evaluation platform including the evaluation software?

2. Can we get the FPGA source code for the FPGA on the TSW1400EVM so that we can add our custom analysis code? This allows us to analyze the phase stability over these long time periods without collecting TBs of data.

3. Is it possible to use an adapter to FMC with a Xilinx development board like the KC705 for testing the ADS5294EVM?

Thanks,

Chris

DAC7562: internal reference with lower voltage rail

Part Number: DAC7562

According to the datasheet, you can use the internal reference to get a full output span of 2.5V (gain 1x) or 5V (gain 2x). What happens when VDD is at something below 5V (like 3.3V)? I suspect the the 2.5V span becomes unaffected, but this should affect the 5V span (when gain is 2x). Does the span get linearly reduced to what ever VDD is?

Hello friends,
         I have a question that seems very basic at this point but I am a bit stuck in this and I can't get results, using these two evaluation modules what I try to obtain are the echoes produced by 40KHZ emitters, I already made the changes to work at Low frequencies that is not a problem, now comes when I must use the J11 trimming of both modules with a trigger signal so as to have a control signal for each emission, and thus obtain the echoes.
            I enclose an image (FIG1) of how I generate my emission excitation and how I make the trigger signal that goes to inputs j11, as we can see, I generate 3 square pulses(señal de emision) and automatically generate the trigger signal (red), as you can see, this signal is active every time during a pulse.

            question 1: I am right?
           Another question I have is that in the TSW GUI in the window data capture options -> trigger option -> check trigger mode enable and Arm on the next capture button press, reading the datasheet (SLWU087D) "comes in handy if there are multiple trigger pulses arriving. "
           question 2 :this way I can capture all the echoes for my different broadcasts?

FIG 1

I already apologize, since this I am not able to achieve, and if someone can solve these two problems I would be very useful

ADS1292R: Computing Patient Impedance

Part Number: ADS1292R

Hello,

Using the ADS1292R I am trying to measure patient impedance. Using the respiration circuit I see how to get the change in voltage to compute respiration rate using the derivatives. However I don't see how to compute the actual R(b) baseline patient impedance. Is it done in a different mode by sending in a different signal?

Thanks,

Dan

DAC39J82: JESD div

Part Number: DAC39J82

Hi, guys,

We are trying to configure JESD related registers for DAC39J82.

At register config37 or hex 0x25, we do not know how to set "clkjesd_div" since there is no information about it.

We are using LMF=821.  DAC PLL is bypass mode, which means we feed in sampling clock directly from pins. No interpolation is used.

What is the rule to set it?

Thanks

Hello everyone!
I am using ads1259 and get the data, but I don't know how to do the calibration. I don't understand some of the 27 pages in the datasheet.

Step 2 starts the conversion. Shouldn't SDATAC be sent before sending the OFSCAL or GANCAL command? suppose  i use RDADC mode?

Hi, I'm trying to receive vsp5324 ADC test pattern data with Xilinx Kintex7 FPGA . Two problems bothered me. The first, can TI provide the test pattern register reference config? Second, can TI provide reference verilog code for receiving differential data from ADC? Or already have an IP core for this?

Part Number: DAC121S101

Hi all,

how I can measure the DC Output Impedance of the DAC121?

Is correct if I send code FFF and measure the output without load and with ome load (for example of 100uA), the difference is the voltage on internal impedance.

Thank you for your support and best regards

ADS1120: temperature measurement using thermal pad

Part Number: ADS1120

Hello,

my customer is currently working a project with ADS1120 (VQFN Package) and they also to plan to measure temperature using the thermal pad of the device. the engineer would like to know if the thermal pad is floating or if it's internally connected? can they connect the pad to the metal housing (it's not connected to any potential) of their equipment in order to measure its temperature?

Also the device is used to measure voltage on a plug contact socket; however the engineer saw a deviation of approx. 150uV between what was captured by the ADC and the same voltage measured using a voltmeter. now he wants to know if its appropriate to use this device for this kind of measurement and if there are any care abouts to take into consideration.

Best regards,

Stani
